GROWTH HABITS Sympodial epiphyte
ORIGIN Ecuador and northwestern Peru
BLOOMING SEASON Winter and spring
LIGHT 700 fc to 2000 fc will grow under artifical light or filtered or diffused sun light.
TEMPERATURE Likes about the same temperature range all year around which is days 23 degrees to 25 degrees C (74 degrees to 77 degrees F)
HUMIDITY Will grow at 60% humidity but prefer the level to be at 80% or above.
WATER Needs to be always damp. On hot days water more frequently to help to cool the plant some.
GROWING MEDIA Use a potting mix that retains moisture well such as the following,  6 parts seedling bark, 1 part perlite, 1 part charcoal and 1 part chopped sphagnum moss or coarse peat. The plants do well if mounted on a cork or tree fern slab for they have a pendent growth habit but you must keep them moist at all times.
FERTILIZER Feed weak weekly (1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon per gallon water) a balanced fertilizer mix (20-20-20).
POTS Plastic pots, baskets or cork or tree fern slabs are good growing containers.
NOTES Plants can have up to 8 flowers on a spike which may be up to 20 inches long. Inflorescence after flowering may branch and flower again if left alone. Flowers are around 1 1/2 inches across. Countryside Orchids at times has this plant.
