Will grow at 60% humidity but prefer the level to be
at 80% or above. |
| WATER |
Needs to be always damp. On hot days water more
frequently to help to cool the plant some. |
| GROWING MEDIA |
Use a potting mix that retains moisture well such as
the following, 6 parts seedling bark, 1 part perlite, 1
part charcoal and 1 part chopped sphagnum moss or coarse peat. The
plants do well if mounted on a cork or tree fern slab for they have
a pendent growth habit but you must keep them moist at all times. |
| FERTILIZER |
Feed weak
weekly (1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon per gallon water) a balanced fertilizer
mix (20-20-20). |
| POTS |
Plastic pots, baskets or cork or tree fern slabs are
good growing containers. |
| NOTES |
Plants can have up to 8 flowers on a spike which may
be up to 20 inches long. Inflorescence after flowering may branch
and flower again if left alone. Flowers are around 1 1/2 inches
across. Countryside Orchids at times has this plant. |
