The One Time I Trusted
 
 

He said "I love you. I really care about you."
And I whispered "I love you too"
We kissed, we caressed
He said he was impressed
By my touch and my kiss
It was heavenly bliss
To experience the love
But when push came to shove
Things changed instantly
We talked less and less
He became hard to impress
And soon he left me
And I still cannot see
Why the one time I trusted
He threw it back at my face
As I thought of his embrace
I wanted him back
But I soon got back on track
And realized it wasn't worth it
Now I'm the one who wouldn't take him back
If he asked me so
No matter how hard he'd ask
I'd surely say no
That was the one time I trusted
And surely the last
Love's just an illusion
I learned that real fast
