Just Another One
We walk hand in hand in the moonlit night
As we sit on the sand he takes me in his arms
And showers me with his charms
It soon turns into a kiss and I'm loving this
But I know it won't last
We're going too fast
He's just another one who will turn and run
When there's no more fun
And the going gets tough
I wonder if anyone will ever love me enough
To stick around when things ain't so sound
There's been so many
But few if any lasted more than a few days
Time taught me that I must
Not be too quick to trust
I could never be sure that I would be secure
Slowly I learned not to get my hopes up high
By believing words people say
Without thinking they might lie
So now I take everything with a pinch of salt
And when things start progressing
I bring them to a halt
I've avoided so much hurt
By being the one to play the game
And each night add a name
To the list of guys I've kissed
In the back of my mind I know
He was just another one; just a bit of fun
But I'll be the one to run before he gets the chance
I think that makes sense
Let's just say I don't believe in a love
Sent from heaven above
That's just a dream; a fairy tale
Which in reality would surely fail.
