Back to poetry
The Vault
You get hurt but you don't feel the pain
You know it's there and you place the blame
On me like it's my fault
You don't understand
It wasn't my hand
That slammed shut the vault

The pain you feel is all in your head
You scream aloud that you wish you were dead
But still nothing changes
No one hears your screams and cries
They just see your bloodshot eyes
And scorn you as your life rearranges

I move back and watch from afar
The wounds on your soul heal with a scar
But they never heal completely
You try to run away
You're back the next day
Now to end your life discretely
