Disclaimer: All trees on this page handcrafted by us of premo polymer clay, which was sculpted, baked, treated with multiple coats of acrylic paint and then sealed. Foliage is from a model railroad supply store. If any of the foliage has come dislodged in shipping, just use a white glue such as Aleene's Tacky Glue to reattatch. The platter and citrus are also made from premo. The platter pattern is called a Chysanthemum cane. Any questions, e-mail me!
GROOVIMUS MAXIMUS: CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR!
Longlocks and Fancy Feet have worked hard preparing gifts for their friends to celebrate the New Year and (presumed) defeat of the monster Niam. Longlocks threw the bonsai pots and the traditional blue and white patterned platters; Fancy has labored for months training the bonsai. (She followed the instructions in the Dawn Te Ching)
The tangerines are from our garden here at Dawn Boca Vista (aka Topper Towers South). Tangerines are a traditional gift at the Chinese New Year, symbolizing love and harmony for the coming year.
Many people believe bonsai to be a Japanese art. The keeping of miniaturized trees in pots is first recorded in China, however, and predates the Ch'in dynasty. Bonsai help us maintain our balance with nature, our relationship with the natural world. And speaking of relating to the natural world, where's FIFI?
