Welcome to Moonshadow Newfoundlands, where the commitment is excellence through quality, not quantity!  Although the trend has always been to breed to the "Top Show Winners", Moonshadow bases its breeding program on breeding for health of body and mind. Most of all, we care about the future of the breed.  Being pretty should never compromise health! Fortunately, in our mission, we have also maintained beautiful type and proper conformation. As a result, our dogs are extremely competitive and Excel in the AKC Show World. Many of our dogs have finished their show careers in very little time, and are now spoiled family members. To ensure the longevity of our dogs, all of our breeding dogs are OFA Certified (hips and elbows), Cystinurea Tested, and checked by a Cardiologist. Our puppies are never placed in their new homes before 12 weeks of age. This is because we want to have each puppies heart tested at the proper age, by a Certified Cardiologist. We want to be sure our puppies are in perfect health, and ready to take on the world in their new forever homes!

Because of consistent temperaments, Moonshadow Newfoundlands also Excel in Obedience and Pet Therapy work.  The Moonshadow Newfoundlands of today are a result of successfully combining the old Newton-Ark line (Rego Era), with Dulrick, and Barharber lines. The result has been nothing short of amazing!!
