Friend Like Me by Moonshadow

There is a place in every human heart for those like me,
Who hate and love: pretend and love, and are friends, like me.
And although this game will hurt us both, in the end it’s true:
You’ve never had a friend like me.

Through hell and heaven, rain and shine, I’ll love you to the end,
Though we fight and rage and scream, my heart is yours to mend.
And even when this battle ends, I’ll still be by your side.
You’ve never had a friend like me.

The time for petty rivalries and playground fights is here,
A time to show the whole damn world I’ve everything to fear.
And when this time is over and you loathe me even more,
You’ve never had a friend like me.

I’ll love you in the only way I can– push you away.
I’ll bleed with every hurtful word I toss into the fray.
And in the final darkness at the end, I’ll tell you this:
You’ve never had a friend like me.
