Grieving
By Jaclyn
There are some feelings
(....and I've had too much to feel right now)
that just can't be described
(and yet still I try, but everything's wrong....)
A day like September 11th, words can't express;
sometimes only hearts can do the talking
I cry and I cry until I don't remember
how it was - to live without tears
And yet in the face of this senseless terrorism
Heroes emerge
America has come to together like never before
And I cry harder
Because not only have we lost innocents,
but we have lost heroes
And their only crime was to try
to save lives that were already too far away....
I cry and I cry until I don't remember
how it was to live without tears
But the next day, I am empty, and
I am numb
And although so many are dead,
I am drained of tears, and I am tired
But I will never, never forget
