History: Relena Dorlan was born as Princess Relena Peacecraft of the Sank Kingdom. Her family was dedicated to total pacifism: her father, King Peacecraft, worked closely from Earth with the colony leader Heero Yuy (*not* the guy in that picture to the left!) towards that goal in the entire Earthsphere. Unfortunately, Yuy was assassinated only a few months before the Earthsphere Alliance stormed the defenseless Sank Kingdom and supposedly the entire royal family died in the attack on the capital. Actually, Relena and her brother Milliardo were the only two survivors. How Milliardo survived is unknown, but one of the members of the Senate saved Relena's life and brought her up as his daughter. Relena first meets Heero washed up on the shore after watching him reenter Earth's atmopshere below the shuttle she was on with Mr. Dorlan: he hijacks an ambulance to get away from her, only to find out he's enrolled at the same school she attends and is her seatmate in class, as well! Relena invites him to her birthday party the next day, but Heero tears up the invitation. In a strikingly odd counterpoint, he brushes a tear away from her check while whispering, "I'll kill you."
Fandom Opinions: A mixed bag. Some love her, some loathe her, and others are indifferent. Some in each camp say she's a little bit crazy, chasing after the guy who's already sworn he's going to kill her right off the bat...
