I hate ferrets: At 10:00am everyone is in bed. At 10:10am, Anna gets up and checks the chickens. 10:15am, and Mel gets up.
Anna said to Mel, 'The chickens have run out of food and the pen is full of shit. I'm thinking I will have to clear them out'. Mel said, 'I don't care. I think Craig said he'll clean them out later on'.
At 10:25am, Darren gets up. Darren said to Mel, 'What day is it?' Mel said, 'Thursday'. Darren said, 'Not Friday?' Mel said, 'Not yet'.
Anna said, 'We can have fish fingers for tea tonight'.
At 10:30am, Mel is reading.
Darren went into the bedroom and chatted to Craig. Darren said, 'I woke up and thought it was Friday. I can't believe it'.
10:35am, and Anna is reading.
At 11:00am, Anna goes back to bed.
Darren said to Mel, 'You were in with Big Brother for about an hour and a half yesterday'. Mel said, 'She was really nice. She really talked and not just asked questions'.
At 11:55am, Craig gets up. He said, 'I've got to let the chickens out and clean out the pen'.
Darren said, 'I fell asleep last night. Wickedy, wickedy, wicked'. Craig said, 'I slept alright'. Mel said, 'I didn't. There were a lot of foxes about last night'. Craig said, 'What scratching and that?' Mel said, 'No. Going woo, woo, woo'. Craig said, 'That's an owl isn't it?' Mel then said, 'Foxes sound a bit like a dog'. Craig said jokingly, 'Yes. We believe you Melanie'. Mel said, 'Don't forget I saw a fox and we've been warned about them'.
At 12:10pm, Darren said, 'I'm cleaning the floor before I go tomorrow. You bastards'.
Mel said to Darren, 'I got up last night because I heard those foxes. They were really close'.
At 12:15pm, Mel is going to see BB. Darren wants some pot pourri. Darren said, 'I want Wild Meadow and Mountain Breeze. You know the it's the expensive stuff. It's got little apples and stuff in it'.
12:25pm, Craig is cleaning the chicken pen.
Darren said to Mel, 'I want a bit of biscuit for Marjorie'. Mel said, 'She shouldn't be having that. Go on piss off Marjorie. Keep away from the cauliflowers'. Darren said, 'I am the chicken man. You will follow me'. The chickens are following Darren about.
Darren said to Mel, 'People outside must think I'm allergic to everything'. Mel said, 'Well you are'. Darren then said, 'They think I'm a fucking nightmare to live with. I'm allergic to air'. Mel said, 'I'm allergic as well. I take allergy pills. I'm allergic to nuts and some fruit. Some of Darren's kids have allergies'. Darren said, 'I get mine from my aunty'.
At 1:25pm, Darren said, 'I wear the same socks all week'. Mel said, 'and in bed'.
1:30pm and Anna gets up again.
Craig said, 'I hate ferrets and polecats. They are evil'. Darren said, 'If they go up your trouser leg, they go for yer knob'. Mel said, 'What? Go for your knob'. Darren said, 'Yes. If one goes up your trouser leg, lock your legs together quickly'.
They have a long and quite disgusting conversation about bad burn accidents. Accidents in general that they have seen or experienced and eating horrid things like fish eyes. YUK!!
At 2:35pm, they are talking about Star Wars toys and how much the originals are worth now.
2:50pm, and Darren gets in the hot tub. Craig said, 'This is Big Brother. Will Darren please not fuck around with the water'.
Darren said to Craig, 'I told you there would be 3 people up, not 2'. Craig said, 'I thought there was going to be 2'. Darren then said, 'I'm surprised I worked it out'.
At 3:20pm, Darren is at the typewriter.
At 3:28pm, Anna has just been to see BB. She said to Darren, 'Big Brother won't give us any fleeces'. Craig said, 'It's freezing'.
Darren said, 'I'm doing a welcome to Uncle D column'.
At 3:45pm, the cameras went dead. This continued for over 6 hours until 9:50pm but, I watched the show then returned to watch the cams.
At 10:30pm, Anna showed Craig the ins and outs of the typewriter. Craig then set about composing his sports column.
11:08pm, Craig comes from the Diary Room with a dictionary.
Anna and Mel are working on a group newspaper task. Anna said, 'We've got our main story'. Mel said, 'What shall we start with and what's the title of the piece?' Anna then said, 'We are 2 journalists doing an article on the people who have left the Big Brother house'. Anna said to Mel, 'You can do the first paragraph and I'll do the second'.
Anna then said, 'Oh, to get quietly tipsy on cider'. Mel is reading her book. Darren said, 'Yeah Mel. You just read your book'. Anna then said, 'I'm going to do a cryptic crossword. [As a clue] Girl who loves tofu'.
Darren is having a dilemma where to place his piece of work.
Anna said to Darren, 'Can you do a picture for for me?'
At 11:25pm, the sound goes, then comes back up at 11:45pm.
Anna said, 'In 15 minutes it's Friday'. Darren is doing an impression of Davina. Craig said, 'When Davina called out Claire's name last week, she said, you've seen it on TV, you know the procedure'. Anna said, 'Claire was really cool about going'. Craig said, 'That was part of the reason that Conrad and Ruth picked her, 'cos she was quite calm'.
Craig said, 'I've finished my first lot of typing'. Mel said, 'Great'. Craig said, 'I dunno what all the fuss was about'. Darren said, 'I've got to do my whole lot of stars again [he's got the dates worng]. Mel said, 'Don't worry about the dates'.
Anna said, 'I'm so nervous'. Darren said, 'Imagine what that Friday will be like when everyone is out'. They are talking about the final show next week. Craig said about the shopping bill, 'We should just stock up on booze and get pissed'. Craig then had reservations about getting too drunk next Friday. Anna said, 'On Thursday we will have a mad night'. Darren said, 'Just raise your glass and say Darren, Mel and Craig, this is for you'. Anna said, 'We can have a big night Wednesday and Thursday'. Craig said, 'Do you reckon they will show a quick recap of the last 9 weeks'. Anna said, 'But tomorrow night. Addressing that crowd'. Darren said, 'If I'm out tomorrow, I'm gonna make the crowd scream'. Anna then said, 'You don't know what you are going to face'. Darren said, 'Do you know what time it is? Everyone. It's Friday'. They all have a drink of cider or a beer and drink to each others health. Craig said, 'If I leave tomorrow it's been nice meeting you all'. Anna said, '4 out of 45,000. I wonder if we will miss it'. Craig said, 'Some parts. I said that in the Diary Room. We are bound to miss some of it'. Mel said, 'We haven't had any worries in here'. Anna then said, 'Why did we all go mad then?' Craig said, 'Cos we were cut off from the outside world. Cut off from the phone, your family, everything'. Darren said, 'How many arguments have we had?' Craig said, 'Not that many. Although I don't like 3 of you in here'. Anna said jokingly, 'I've had huge arguments with everyone in here. I didn't want to wind folk up in case I got kicked out'. Mel said, 'I had quite a few in the first week'. Anna said, 'I never argued with a girl'. Darren said, 'Mel you chilled because the group got smaller'. Anna then said, 'I couldn't even remember Melanie in the first 3 - 4 weeks. Our first chat was on the lawn 4 weeks ago'. Darren said, 'My first memory of Ann was you dancing. You did that thing. I thought, WOW she's got rhythm'. Craig said to Darren, 'My first memory of you was when they put the video on on the second Sunday'. Anna said about Darren, 'My first memory of you was thinking, who's that bloke with the cheesy grin. Craig, we had a few chats. I remember you from the beginning and having a giggle about your napping'. Darren said to Anna, 'The first time Caroline said there were no gays in here. Then you said, I am'. Craig then said to Anna, 'The first I knew about you being gay, was the day when people were chatting about gays in the kitchen. I got up bleary eyed then said are you gay and you said yes'. Anna said about Mel, 'We sat outside chatting about 3 weeks ago and before then, I can remember you being a bit feisty'. Mel said, 'No I'm not'. Darren said, 'It's not a matter that you are calming down. It's that we are getting to know you'. Anna then said, 'I noticed that before Claire came, we could be quite rude to each other. We were quite polite for a while'. Mel said about Darren, 'I just noticed you'. Then she said of Craig, 'We swapped name badges'. About Anna she said, 'You were playing guitar. Andy was cooking and he said that's quite nice. I was thinking shut up'. Mel then said, 'We got Sada's name so wrong all the time'. Anna said, 'Sada would address the group. I was too nervous for that. Everyone would either take notice or think shut up'. Darren said, 'I tend to study people a lot. Anna was very quiet'. Anna said, 'It takes me time to get to know people'. Darren said, 'It was the same with Tom'. Anna said, 'I like to talk one-to-one. It takes me time to speak in a group'. Mel said, 'I'd like to say I'm the same but, I'm a gobby shite. I'm much more comfortable in one-to-one rather than a group'. Darren said, 'I don't mind talking to a group'. Craig said to Darren, 'It's easier on-to-one'. Darren said, 'I can do either'. Anna said, 'He's amazing'.
The group play the yes and no game for a while.
Then Mel said, 'I'm tired and I am going to read my book'. Darren said, 'I am going to force myself to sleep'. Craig gets back to the typewriter. Darren moans that he only has one application of his shaving cream left. Mel said, 'I feel the need, the need for aftershave'. Anna said to Mel, 'Is the typewriter too loud for you?'
At 12:45am, Mel said good night to the boys. Darren said to Mel, 'You know you've got some dishes to do'. Mel said, 'I'll do them in the morning'.
Craig said to Darren, 'How do you spell prune juice?' Darren said, 'I don't know'. Craig then said, 'Half a million pounds on prune juice. I can read it but I can't spell it'.
At 12:50am, Darren is outside checking the chickens. Anna and Mel are reading in bed. Craig is at the typewriter.
At 1:05am, a helicopter can be heard outside. Anna said, 'Go away. I don't care. Even if you are from the Guardian'.
Anna and Mel are talking about the books they are reading. Mel said, 'Oh God. Tomorrow is here. 16 hours to go'. Anna said, 'Have a big lie in'.
At 1:50am, the lights go out in the girls room. They say goodnight and sleep well.
At 2:10am, Craig is cleaning his teeth and gets into bed at 2:15am.
