Channel 4 will want to whip up support for their program. What better way to do this than tell a story.
A villain and his downtrodden victim(s) - or a love story maybe. It is in their interests to portay what goes on in the house as exciting and to have a thread of a story running through. Whatever the actual truth is, program makers will cherry pick bits to suit them.
I do not believe they are doing anything different from documentaries or other programming they may do. There driving force is to have ratings up and to have interest developed in their program. John. |
