This area of our site is dedicated to the memory of our bullmastiffs who have left us for
the "Rainbow Bridge". Losing a beloved pet can be a very difficult time and there is indeed
a mourning for a friend that we have loved. Though they can no longer be with us, the warmth,
comfort, friendship and love they gave to us, unconditionally, remains always.

Brynlow’s Rikki Shea

June 1995 – May 2003

From the day this brindled bundle of joy blessed our home, to the day God called her to his home, Rikki danced….

She never entered a show ring, but her endearing personality entered and touched the hearts of all she greeted at our door.

Rikki had a wonderful zest for live. A real party girl, but at the same time very sweet, and she loved to dance, rocking back and forth on her front legs, tail spinning in wide circles, head tossing her velvet ears from side to side, and bellowing out great roars of gleeful joy! The more you cheered her on, the harder she would go at it. Mom took your coat, Rikki took your shoes, roaring with delight….

We lost our Rikster just shortly before her 8^th birthday, to a nasal cancer. We kept her comfortable with her illness for several months, but we knew, from the look in her eyes, the day she needed to leave us. She left the same way she came, embraced in the arms of those who loved her, tail wagging softly, a smile on her face, and a song in her heart. Rikki knew she was loved, and we knew she loved us.

NITRO

Nitro was such an awesome dog. We often called him Nitee, because when he was little, he needed to grow into "Nitro." He did grow into his name, but to me, he was always my Nitee. We shared a special bond, spending a lot of time together, one on one, as we trained together, and traveled to dog shows. He was extremely easy going, to the point of being a bit goofy for a bullmastiff, but that attitude captured the hearts of many. His personality, along with his outstanding conformation qualities, provided a combination for an outstanding companion & show dog, winning multiple Best In Shows, and qualifying as one of the top bullmastiffs in Canada during his two years being shown.

Nitro taught me so much, during our time together, and because of these life lessons, I was able to grow as a person, and a breeder. For this I will always be thankful. Though his life was cut short by a tragic accident, I am comforted to know that to Nitro, every day of life was a joyous party, lived to the fullest, tail always wagging, never knowing serious illness or pain. He enjoyed a true celebration of life!

AMBER

Amber was such a beautiful girl, who carried herself proudly, as reigning queen of our other dogs. She was not a big girl, but a mighty package. She had a very upbeat personality and would almost turn inside out with joy & excitement whenever she greeted us. Her deep ebony eyes would sparkle with life, and her dark, beautiful ears and muzzle were soft as velvet. She loved to cuddle, and she would snuffle with joy, giving many kisses. Amber always lived for the moment and enjoyed being active, playing with her house mates, and with us. When she did slow down, she would reign from her chair, overlooking her kingdom and watching for squirrels & birds. If one came on our deck, she would flip the door handle and let herself out into the enclosed area, making it clear they barely escaped her pounce!

Amber had some medical conditions we were able to maintain through medications. We monitored her closely, and she lived a happy, and pain free life, for years. Eventually the time came when medication could no longer provide her with a good quality of life. This is always a difficult decision for any dog owner, but we knew she was suffering, and it was in her best interest to be set free of her earthly confines to romp an play without pain or torment, at Rainbow Bridge with her buddy Nitro. We take comfort in knowing she lived her life to the fullest!
