HAIKU
the fog is thickened.
adding to its humid mist
the bitter fire's smoke
the radiant moon-shine
is suddenly extinguished
as Dragon flies by
the liquid crystal
illuminates crevices.
water, it is called
ever flowing and
infinite to man's vision,
the ocean is time
sleepy peacefulness
falling softly on my door.
shimmering, white, rain
a haiku is a poem from the japanese culture.  haikus are short yet powerful and their topic is always nature.
the form of these poems is strict:
5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and 5 in the last.
ICE
a sheer opaqueness
delicately numbs the soul
with frigid beauty
