off-balance

lost painting, march 3 '04

I reach into the waves with a kind look gracing my face, my three wings arched gently, fading seamlessly into the sky. Water is dripping from my palms, into the calm sea. A ripple snaps the fringed liquid from reality, but on the edges you can see the haze of the warp disappearing.

Smooth black hair, just about elbow length, drifts in the air from the soft breeze. My gown is made of solidifed light, faded from years of wear. Even in it's age, though, it speaks volumes of beauty and timeless peace. On a bit of land so distant, I can just make out the silhouettes of cherubim dancing around and laughing. The sound of their voices rolls easily across the waves, into the deep unknown.

For eternity, this nameless searph is wreathed in the warped pause of a single moment.
