off-balance

to smile another time, april 28 '04

Similarly,
Our eyes shed clearness
And the veils are lifted

Only for another to be dropped.

It seems I should have
Closed my heart
Because now I'm just waiting for it
To bleed out.

Don't shake your head at me,
I've always known
What the end would be.

I was waiting for the
Justifications
That will never come.

Smiling bitterly and
Rolling your eyes
I think you look like
A stoned horse,
With your nostrils flaring.
(And I thought I was ugly)

Truth is swept under the carpet for
A final dance and then farewell.
Taking the moon from the sky
Swimming in it's light and
Drowning, so beautifully
Existing as nothingness

Reflecting on the past
As my own reflection.

Smile.

authors comments

this was written randomly as a ramble. it's okay, i think. but in my poems, a lot of times i use the word 'smile' as sarcastically as i did in this... *sigh*
