Chapter 1
"Catherine be nice. It has been five years since you last saw him," Trowa said.
"I’ll try. So he is your best friend?" Trowa nodded his head. "Even after all he did to you?" Catherine wanted to understand why her little brother was so close to someone who hurt him.
"I told you already, he was under the influence of the ZERO system," Trowa said softly. "And he was distraught over his father’s dead. That is an awful combination. The ZERO system plays on your emotions and it caused Quatre to go insane. He didn’t know what he was doing. The system told him the colonies were evil, causing him to attack them."
"Well, I am going to feed the lions," Catherine said as she left their trailer.
Trowa knew she wasn’t feeding the lions because they were already fed today, but he didn’t go after her. He knew she needed her space right now. Grabbing his coat he headed out the door for a short walk.

Quatre walked around the circus grounds in search of his temporary roommates. He entered one tent and found an attractive woman throwing knives at a board with amazing accuracy.
Her wavy brown hair as pulled back into a ponytail that reached just below her shoulders. Her blue eyes were extremely focused. The low cut blue shirt and jogging pants not only enhanced her figure; it also made her eyes even bluer.
‘Wow. She looks even prettier than I remember her to be,’ Quatre thought. Before he could say hi, he saw Trowa pass by, so he ran after him.
"Hey Trowa," Quatre called after his friend.
Trowa stopped walking and waved to Quatre.
"How are you?" Quatre asked.
"Good, how was your flight?"
"Boring. L4 seems so far away from Earth when you have to take a shuttle."
"How long was the flight?"
"Only six hours, but it seemed to be forever," Quatre said with a smile. "So how is life here?"
"It's okay. Cathy still has her knife throwing act, and I am still the on she throws at," Trowa answered. "I’ll take you to our trailer. You can either sleep on my bed or the couch."
"I’ll take the couch."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. Thanks for letting me stay here with you guys," Quatre said.
"No problem," Trowa said. He led Quatre to his room. Trowa cleaned out two drawers for Quatre’s use. He helped Quatre unpack, and when they were done he spoke again, "Cathy should be here any minute. She promised to make dinner tonight."
"Oh by the way, I saw Cathy earlier," Quatre said thinking of the beautiful woman he came a crossed.
"Did she look mad?"
"I don’t know. She was throwing her knives," Quatre said.
"Oh. Well we had a disagreement before you came and she left, so I am assuming she is taking her anger out on the poor throwing board. At least it isn’t any of us." Trowa headed out of the room.
"Am I causing trouble here? I can leave if it makes things better."
"Don’t worry, Quatre. Besides I want Catherine to be friends with you, and other than forcing her to be alone with you, this will be the only way it will happen," Trowa said with a slight smile. His emerald eyes danced with mischief.
"Hey Trowa, I’m back," a voice traveled through the trailer.
"Back here Cathy," Trowa yelled out.
After a few seconds Catherine Bloom showed up at the doorway. "Oh. Hi," she said when she saw the other man near Trowa. She turned towards Trowa and said, "I really don’t feel like cooking. How about ordering in?"
"Sounds good."
Chapter 2
After about a month into Quatre’s stay, Trowa noticed a behavioral change in Quatre. He seemed to be in a daze all the time, except when he was talking to Catherine; and then he was attentive.
‘He likes her,’ Trowa thought. ‘If only Cathy could tolerate him.’ He had already talked to Catherine about Quatre when he first noticed his best friend’s change. Catherine still hated Quatre and wanted nothing to do with him. This upset Trowa because he wanted his best friend to be happy and he wanted Cathy to find someone stable, kind, and loving.
He thought for a while about it until he got an idea. Trowa went in search of Quatre to share his idea.
Quatre was sitting under the tree, which gave shade to Trowa and Catherine’s trailer. When he saw Trowa walking up to him, he waved. Trowa said, "You like Cathy." It was more of a statement than a question.
"What?" Quatre asked slightly confused.
"Do you like Cathy, because I know how you can get her to listen to you and realize that you are a good person," Trowa said eyeing Quatre.
"How could that ever happen. You even said if my staying here did not work, then the only other thing would be to force," Quatre stopped talking when he realized what Trowa’s intent was. "Oh, you can’t be serious."
"Quatre, this is the only way she would even think of you as a friend. I really want my best friend and sister to at least get along," Trowa said.
"How do you suppose I get her to stay around me?"
"I talked to the manager and asked if I could have a few days vacation. He said I could if I could find someone to replace me in the act," Trowa stated.
"You want me to stand still as Catherine, who despises me, throws sharp knives at me," Quatre’s eyes grew as he said this.
"Yes, but she wouldn’t do anything to harm anyone, not even you."
"I don’t know Trowa… Catherine could end up being mad at you too."
"But there is a chance that she would like you. If things don’t work out I’ll come back sooner than I told the manager," Trowa stated.
"How long did you tell the manager?"
"About a month or two."
"You promised to stay in contact?"
"Yes," Trowa said. His dark green eyes showed hope.
"Fine. When do you go?"
"After I teach you all you need to know," Trowa responded.
"Okay. What do I need to know?"
"You look better if, no matter how close the knife comes to you, you don’t flinch."
"I’ll try to."
"Hey you were a Gundam pilot, so this should not be too hard," Trowa said. Trowa led Quatre into the practice tent. "Here stand against this," he pointed to a round board.
Quatre stood against the board very still. With out warning Trowa hit the board next to Quatre’s head. Quatre’s heart raced from being startled, but he managed to stand perfectly still.
"See you’re a natural," Trowa said. He smiled as Quatre’s face went white.
"Don’t do that. You scared the hell out of me!"
"But you did not move, so you’re fine," Trowa smirked. "Now let me get Catherine to throw at you."
