The murder happened on the 7th of August, at around 2:00 pm. The victim, a molemaid called Jessie, was found at 6:00 the next morning under a tree. She had bruises on her body and arms but it looked like she was poisoned.

The body was found by a squirrel, Cashew, who was doing her early-morning tree-jumps. She called over her brother Rees and together they notified the police. This happened around 7:30. The body was left alone and when they returned with the police, it wasn't there. Luckily Cashew had a very good memory and remembered nearly every detail.
