| About Me | ||||||||||
| Hi!! My name is Geoff !!! I am from Maple Grove, Minnesota but was originally from Hong Kong. I came to the states when I was 13 and lived happily ever after. I was graduated from the University of Minnesota with degrees in Material Science & Engineering and Chemistry. I joined the US Army Reserve as a combat medic shortly after my graduation. And right now I am working for a medical company making lots of angioplasty balloons. Saving people lives RULZ!!! That was my life story in just a tiny little paragraph. But the best part of my life was to become a Christian shortly after I joined the military. My journey to Christ...now..that is something worth writing about!! I was borned as a Catholic Christian. My parents took me to religion class, church services, volunteering for the homeless, etc. But I didn't feel that I was fully accepting Christ. I felt that a part of me was missing. I have never read the bible thoroughly nor understand the lessons from the sermon. I was completely lost!!! I finally picked up and read the bible for the first time when I was in the Army (In fact, my girlfriend Erin gave me a copy of the bible right before I left for boot camp). We didn't get to do much reading while I was in the boot camp but the Army was very serious about providing religion practice to its soldiers. I was able to obtain a copy of a bible from just about every corner in every single building at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. In fact, I had 6-7 bibles in my locker!! I figure out maybe this is time for me to read the word. I clearly remember Psalm 23 and Psalm 27 throughout my military training, "As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and yoru staff, they comfort me" (Psalm 23:4) "The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1) I learned that I didn't need to fear or be afraid of everything because God is with me. I was abit down during my training because I missed all my friends and family back home. These two verses really gave me peace in my heart. I was able to cope with my anxiety and fear. I have been reading the bible ever since!!! That was my very first baby step with Christ and looking for more in the future!! In my spare time, I love to go running, reading, hanging with friends and just being lazy. hehehe. I started to participating races this past summer. I ran my first 5K in Minneapolis and the time was 22 minutes 19 sec. It wasn't the fastest but I just love running! I am hoping to participate the Grandma Marathon at Duluth, MN next summer 2004. It should be a blast. I can't pass the opportunity to run and enjoy God's wonderful creation at the same time! Anyway, I hope you all enjoy my little story!! In Christ! |
