The Mystic Garden *If you wish to improve your psychic powers, plant a bay tree, common celery, honeysuckle, marigolds, roses, or thyme. Those desiring a loving household may wish to include such common plants and flowers as the gardenia, primrose, spearmint, tomato, pansy, jasmine, and catnip, and a few trees such as cherry, apple, orange, maple, and willow. To ensure happiness in a home, you might wish to fill a window box or ranks of flower pots with hyacinth, lavender, marjoram, catnip, and morning glory. If money is a problem, you could choose mint, onion, snapdragon, camellia, chamomile, clover, dill, basil, and perhaps even a small section of wheat. Pine, oak, ash, and apple trees planted near the house also help direct prosperity your way, as will a banana plant. To ward off thefts in your home, plant a fence of ti (ki) around its perimeter, or be sure to include garlic, cumin, vetivert, and a clump of thistles, an aspen, cactus, or juniper tree. Bamboo and hydrangea near the house offer it eternal luck, as does a sunflower. A bay or palm tree in the garden protects it and your home against inclement weather.
The Garage To bless and guard you car, start with the physical: Clean it from roof to tires, inside and out. In the final rinse water, add an infusion of a protective her-such as bay, rosemary, or dill- to spread its vibrations over the entire car. (To make an infusion, steep 1 Tbsp. Herb in one cup of boiling water. Let steep for 10 minutes, strain, and use.) For an external car protection spell, take about 1 Tbsp each of rosemary, dill, and basil. Place this mixture in a small bah and put it in one of the hubcaps. The motion of the wheel will constantly charge the sachet with energy, and it wil help protect your car. Sachets for inside your car are easy to make. Mix up: Comfrey-protection during travel Caraway-protection against theft Rosemary-protection against theft Ash-protection against accidents Mugwort-protection during travel Moisten with a few drops of one or all of the following: Frankincense oil Rose geranium oil Aloe Vera oil Mix and place in a red cloth square. Tie up into a bag with red or white cord so that the herbs are trapped inside and place in your car. Squeeze every few days to infuse with power. Replace the sachet when the scent is gone. Wormwood hung separately from the rear-view mirror protects the car on dangerous roads, while plantain guards it against any negative energies that may travel the streets. Dab some protective oil on the seatbelts, then wear them. Burn cone incense in your car with the windows down. Use the ashtray. Frankincense, sandalwood, and myrrh are always a good choice.
Protection Protection Sachets All-Purpose Protection Sachet Rosemary Basil Dill Place these dried herbs in a piece of red or white cloth. Tie up the bundle with red yarn and hang it over the front door (or as close as possible), saying protective words and visualizing. Anti-theft Sachet Caraway Rosemary Juniper Elder (or mistletoe) Place these ingredients in a piece of white cloth, tie it up with white yarn and hang it prominently in your home, visualizing the sachet barring the entrance of thieves. Weather Protection Sachet Cedar Mistletoe Bay Place these three items in a piece of white cloth. Tie it together with white yarn and hang it in the highest place in the house, or the chimney. You might wish to obtain several small lengths of bamboo. By the light of the Sun at noon, carve protective symbols (pentagrams, hearts, crosses) on the sticks and thrust them into the ground around the house. Do this with power, of course, visualizing as you plant the sticks that you are creating a curtain of protective energy about your house. An old American Indian spell consists of planting a cactus at each corner of your houses foundation. (All of the cacti should be of the same variety.) This guards against the entrance of unwanted influences and powers. Take equal parts of the following: Basil Elder Valerain Marjoram Using your hands and working over a bowl, squeeze these herbs into a powder. Now walk through the house, moving clockwise from room to room, scattering the herb powder lightly so that it is evenly spread in every room. This will bring protection, good fortune, peace, and security from attackers and thieves. Hazelnuts strung on a red cord and hung in the home bring luck and money, but dont be tempted to eat one of the nuts. A rod of hazel wood hung in the home is also protective. A sprig of mistletoe hung form the ceiling protects the home against hostile spirits, while garlic placed in a windowsill guards against thieves. If you become nervous or scared when descending steps to a basement or traveling up a long flight of steps into a musty, shadow ridden attic, place a sprig of rue at the foot of the stairs. You fears should vanish.
Household Purifications The Infusion Purification Collect equal parts (about a handful of each) of dried marjoram, bay, and rosemary. Heat a gallon of water until it is almost boiling, remove it from the heat and toss the herbs into the water. Cover and allow to cool. Strain the herbs from the water and, using your fingers, sprinkle the infusion throughout the house. Move in a clockwise direction, visualizing, and saying something like the following: I banish evil and negativity; This is my will, so mote it be. Touch the water to doors and windows, appliances, and furniture, outside around the home and on the surrounding property. Be sure to pour some down the drains as well. Visualize the water cleansing the whole area. It is done.
The Lemon Infusion When the Moon is full, completely peel nine lemons using your hand alone. As you finish peeling each one, place the peels in a bucket or a large bowl of water. Next, gently squeeze the peels in the water, expressing their oils until the sharp, clean fragrance of lemons powers hangs heavily in the air. Visualize the lemons powers cleansing your home of negativity. Next, still visualizing, scrub the floors, doorknobs, and windows with the lemon water. Pour a little of the remaining water down each drain. Repeat this ritual each Full Moon.
House Spell For a Peaceful House If your household is being rocked by disturbances from an outside source, gather freshly cut parsley from the garden (or buy fresh parsley at a store) and place it in a pan of water. Let it soak for 9 minutes, then sprinkle the water throughout the house while visualizing a calm environment. Harmony should be restored. For in-house disturbances, heat three cups of water until just boiling. Put 3 teaspoons of dried valerian root in a teapot and pour the hot water over this. Let steep for 13 minutes, strain, and sprinkle the mixture around the home. This shall halt the strife.
The Household Altar Burning incense regularly is a highly recommended magical household practice.
