Types of Witches, paths & traditions.
What follows is a short list of a few paths that are available to seeker. Of course there are many other wonderful traditions out there. Just do your research to find one you like. These are my definitions based on my study and opinions. Others may define these paths in slightly different ways.

Alexandrian Tradition:
Alex Sander is claimed king of witches. Modern Gardenarian.

British Tradition:
mix of Celtic and Gardenarian beliefs. Covens are co-ed

Celtic Wicca :
Worships and uses the Celtic/Druidic pantheon. This path heavily involves the Elements, nature and the Ancient Ones. The Celts has great knowledge of the land, trees, elemental spirits gnomes and faeries.

Caledonii Tradition:
formally known as Hecatine

Ceremonial:
Ceremonial magic

Dianic tradition:
Their prime worship is of the Goddess. This path has also been known as the 'feminist' movement of the Craft.

Electic witch :
One does not follow one particular tradition or path. The partitioner learns and studies many magick systems and uses what they feel best works for them and what they are interested in.

Gardnerian tradition :
Founded by Gerald Gardner in England. He was set on not letting the old ways die and was the first to publicise witchcraft.

Hereditary:
Craft can be traced back threw your family history (you were raised into it). They adopt people into family much like a marrige.

Kitchen Witch :
The partitioner deals with the practical side of witchcraft, the earth and the elements, hearth and home. Often they use the more commonly available items for charms, tools and spells etc.

Pagans
Paganism is the word used to describe any earth and nature based religion/path.

Pictish:
magick in nature, little religion.

Pow Wow:
Healing powers, but not a religion.

Solitary Witch :
One who practices alone and can be from any tradition. They practice alone because they want to or because it is not possible to have contact with other witches.  (living in the bush or in a small town etc). They can also be called 'Natural witches'.

Satanic:
No such thing, witches do not believe in "Satan".

Seax:
Saxon beliefs, without breaking Gardenerian traditions

Strega:
Smallest in USA, beautiful ceremonies

Teutonic:
aka Nordic

Wiccan :
Wicca is a Pagan religion of the Goddess and God. This tradition's definition varies with witches. Not all Pagans are Wiccans. A very nature and religion orientated tradition. It is not always necessary to practice magick on this path. Just a very deep respect and love of the earth and nature of all kinds is needed. The word 'Wicca' is derived from the Anglo Saxon word for witch 'Wicce'.
