As with any of these recipes, if it comes out too soft, add a little more beeswax; if it is too hard, add a drop or 2 more oil. They are really hard to mess up..so have some fun!

Honey Balm
5 to 6 Tbsp. (75 to 90 ml) sweet almond, jojoba, castor, or quality vegetable oil
1 Tbsp. (15 ml) beeswax
2 tsp. (10 ml) pure honey
10 drops essential oil of spearmint or peppermint for a sweet taste, or tea tree for treatment of cold sores and chapped, flaky lips (optional)
1/2 tube favorite colored moisturizing lipstick (optional)

Melt together the oil and beeswax, in a small saucepan over low heat, or in a double boiler just until wax is melted. Use the larger amount of oil if you want a thinner, glossier consistency. Remove from heat. Add honey and blend mixture thoroughly. If you would like to add color to your gloss, add the piece of lipstick now, while the mixture is still hot. I usually divide it into two containers; one colored gloss and one clear gloss. Stir the mixture(s) occasionally as it cools to prevent separation. It should have the consistency of petroleum jelly when ready. If you choose to add an essential oil to your lip treatment, add it after the gloss has almost cooled and stir thoroughly.
