| Oatmeal/Almond Scrub 1 part ground oatmeal or ground almonds 3 to 5 drops of essential oil of choice if desired Mix well with a fork. Use oatmeal for normal skin. Oatmeal is a soothing, softening cleanser, and makes an excellent nonalkaline soap substitute. If your skin is dry, use ground almonds for a good moisturizing cleanser. Food dehydrator Coarsely grind the dry peels in blender until they look like coffee grounds or fine cornmeal. Place in bowl and air dry. Exfoliating Scrub Mix together 3 T. almond or apricot oil and 1 T. kosher salt. Gently rub into dry skin. Avoid eye area. Also great for dry skin on elbows and feet. Beauty Scrub Blend 12 heaping T. oats in a blender. Mix with 1/3 cup witch hazel and 2 heaping T. plain yogurt. Cut six pieces of gauze in 7" x 8" rectangles; make two piles of three layers of gauze. Place half the mixture on each pile of gauze and tie with a string. Store in a plastic bag in the fridge. Moisten face and massage with sachet for a couple of minutes, squeezing it gently as you massage. |
