| BRIDGET BISHOP Bridget Bishop was an outcast. She flouted Puritan mores and had been accused of witchcraft some years before the 1692 witch-hunt. Her history made her an easy target, and she was the first witch to be tried, condemned, and executed. Bishop was hanged on June 10, 1692. |
