Herbal astringent
1 cup distilled water
1/2 cup Vodka or "golden grain" alcohol
1/4 cup of your fave herbs- Peppermint and Spearmint are revitalizing & refreshing; while lavender is calming and relaxing. Try Sage, Lemon Balm, Rosemary, etc. or combinations. Cut in small pieces or add 1/4 cup of Witch Hazel.

Mix all the ingredients and place in jar w/ a tight fitting lid.
Shake once a day for 2 weeks.
Then, strain and pour into a clean spray bottle.
Make a label and add a ribbon and a flower for decoration, and your gift is ready!

Cucumber astringent
1 peeled and mashed cucumber
3 tablespoons rose-water
2 tablespoons eau-de-cologne
1 tablespoon glycerin

Mash the cucumber.
Add rose-water, eau-de-cologne, and glycerin and mix well.
Strain before use.
Refrigerate

Astringent 1
You will need:
1/2 thinly sliced lemon
1/2 thinly sliced orange
3/4 cup ethanol alcohol
Combine lemon, orange, and alcohol in a blender and mix until fruits are pulverized. Strain liquid into a jar using a small strainer or cheesecloth. Tightens your pores, refreshes your skin, and helps remove oils from skin. Will keep 6 months refrigerated. Yield, 3/4 cup.

Astringent 2
You will need:
3 tsp lemon extract
Juice of one lime
1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
Combine ingredients in a small bowl. Transfer to a jar and shake well. Store in the refrigerator. Tightens your pores, refreshes your skin, and helps remove oils from skin.

Chamomile Astringent
You will need:
1/2 cup chopped fresh mint (or 2 tbsp dried)
2 tbsp dried chamomile flowers, crushed
4 cups water
Combine ingredients in a small saucepan. Boil for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and allow to steep for 5 minutes. Strain liquid into a jar, cover and refrigerate. Will keep 2 weeks refrigerated. Apply w/ cotton balls to skin. Especially good for very oily skin.
