It is your choice if you want to do this ,there is no law that states you must,but if you do there are times when, perhaps due to temperature, you may wish to be robed."An ye harm none (not even yourself), do what ye will". Witches wear clothing of every color and every style Many Witches do choose to wear black clothing or ritual robes. The color black is the culmination of all vibrational rates of light on the material plane. Black absorbs light information and helps Witches be more receptive to psychic impressions and energies. If you choose to wear robes below are some color choices,I know of coven"s where Every member wears the same color,others that wear the colors of their rank or station ,some only wear robes for speacial occasions such as handfastings,rituals,celebrations.Whatever the case maybe it is your choice NO-ONE can or should force you to do something you are not comfortable with.Robes can be as simple or as elaborate as you like. Any type of material will do, the choice is up to you - silk, cotton, wool. Consider, its weight: will it he too heavy and hot, or too light and cool? Also consider how easily it creases and wrinkles. Will it stretch too much? Is it washable? Will it itch? Since some Witches wear nothing under their robes, this last is a serious consideration! Robe colors (only suggestions ) Purple is favored by those who wish to be closer to the Goddess and God. Yellow is an excellent color for those involved with divination. Green Earth related Magick,alot of Druids wear this color Blue healers and those who work with psychic awareness or for attuning with the Goddess in Her Oceanic aspect. White Symbol of spirituality and purification,purity.Waen for Full moon celebrations and cleansing rituals. Brown worn by those who attune with animals or who casts spells for them. Black (popular)Black is often worn for protection,and is a symbol of the night. Orange/Red robes can be worn to Sabbats, for protective rites or when attuning with the God in his fiery solar aspect.
