Materials:
Worsted weight yarn - about 2 oz. - colors of your choice. Directions are given for 2 color ornament.
Size "G" crochet hook
Cotton balls for stuffing
Cedar oil or scent of your choice

Ornament:
Disc - make two.
Rnd 1 - With color A, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join, use thread or safety pin to mark rnds.

Rnd 2 - 2 sc in each st around to marker - 12 sc.

Rnd 3 - *2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in next st*; repeat * - * around - 18 sc.

Rnd 4 - *1 sc in each of the 1st 2 sts, 2 sc in next st*; rep * - * around - 24 sc.

Rnd 5 - *2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts*; rep * - * around - 30 sc

Rnd 6 - *1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, 2 sc in the next st*; rep * - * around - 36 sts.

Rnd 7 - *2sc in 1st st, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts*; rep * - * around - 42 sc. Slst in next st, end off.

Joining - Place the two discs wrong sides tog and join color B with a slst, working through both discs at the same time, ch 1, sc in each st around, when almost to end, lightly stuff discs with cotton balls, then finish joining. Join with slst to 1st sc.

Trim Style 1 - Ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 3, sc in the next st*, rep from * to * around. End with slst to 1st sc. Ch 20, slst back into 1st sc for hanger. End off.

Trim Style 2 - Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 3 dc in each st around, join with a slst to top of ch 3. Ch 20, slst back into top of ch 3 for hanger. End off.

Apply several drops cedar oil or Christmas scented oil of your choice.
Reapply as needed.

Variations on a theme:
Use your imagination with this one. It can be used to scent an artificial Christmas Tree, or as a moth repellent in your winter storage closet. It could also, with a little firmer stuffing be used as a pin cushion

Experiment with different color combinations too! Work the center in brown, and use Trim Style 2, worked in yellow. Scent with "Sunflowers" perfume and use as a room freshener.
