Hey minna! This is a short set in the R season, while Serena and Darien have broken up. It’s based on the song "Amazed" by Lonestar, thus the title. I don’t make any claims as to owning either Sailor Moon or Lonestar or any of his songs and I seriously hope you never did think I did in the first place. That said, let's get on with the story!

The night battle raged on around him. Jumping out of the way of an attack, he sent a dozen of his weapon of choice down to embed themselves in the droid advancing on him. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Serena leap and get Rini out of the way of an attacking droid.

"Hurry Rini, I want you to run all the way home and don't look back. Don't worry, the cats will protect you. Now go!" Rini scampered off and Serena turned and immediately realized her mistake. Four droids had surrounded her and she took the brunt of all the attacks thrown at her. She was sent flying through the air and he jumped to catch her, finishing off the droid with a rose to her jewel in the same motion. 'Oh Serena,' he thought desperately. 'You're the only girl I ever let get close to me, the only one I WANT close to me…please, be ok…' She weakly opened pain filled eyes to meet his worried ones.

She smiled weakly at him, the grimaced as another wave of pain flooded her senses. The senshi, angry that she had been injured, turned to the masses of droids and blasted with renewed vigor. Darien watched the shuddering girl in his arms and began to think. The beginning scene of his dream flashed before him and he felt a warm feeling flash through him at the thought of marrying Serena one day. Scenes of cheerful vivaciousness rose to his mind as well as the fated day of the thrown test paper. Scenes of her as Sailor Moon flashed through his mind, fighting youma, cardians, as the princess, fighting him while under Beryl's control. He shuddered at that thought. What a girl…

He looked down to see that he had been carefully stopping her blood flow with pieces of his cape and coat while he thought. He brushed some of her unbound hair away from her face to join the other strands that had fallen around him when he caught her. He remembered the good times they had after Alan and Ann left. All the ice cream sundaes they shared, the boat rides and dates and warm kisses and when she would come to his apartment and they would cuddle on the couch and relax, kiss a bit… His hand found it's way to her abdomen where he found three ribs to be broken. He tore strips off his cape and knotted them tightly around her. She sucked in her breath, but didn't cry out. Darien was astounded. Anyone else would have been screaming by now… He began to pet her hair out of her face again, leaning over her. She opened her shy blue orbs and caught his gaze as she whispered a faint, "Thank you…"

He heard a scream, as the first senshi was knocked unconscious. Mercury soon followed Rei. He made a quick decision fast as Venus hit a tree and crumpled to the ground, alive, but unconscious. Very carefully laying Serena on the ground, he took up the defensive in front of her, but pummeled the droids attacking Jupiter with rose after rose. Two minutes ticked by as both weakened; the hoards of droids taking their toll. Just then a hand landed on his shoulder. Jupiter saw, and paused, her eyes widening and she took the brunt of 2 attacks and was down. Darien however was staring at the tiny blond, who according to all medical standards, taking into account that she was a superheroine, should not even be doing her attempts at standing, on a sprained ankle and horribly swollen knee, beside him.

"Stand back," she said quietly, with purpose and then she limped forward, her scepter in hand.

"No." He stepped forward, putting his arm before her, disallowing any forward motion on her part. "I won't let you. You're injured. I WON'T let you use that energy draining device in your condition!" She looked at him, then sidestepped his arm.

"This is MY responsibility, not yours. Stay out of my way," she said as she limped forward to where the smirking droids waited to take her on after amusing themselves watching this soap opera. Slowly she raised her scepter.

"Moon…" she nearly faltered in her chant as she felt two arms encircle her and the hands overlap hers on the scepter and begin the dangerous process of transferring a power other than lunar into the focus. Tuxedo Mask was channeling vast amounts of the kinetic earth power he wielded into her weapon, sweat running down his face. But she was too late into the process to stop. Throwing her weight back, she managed to push him back out of tactile contact, then finished her chant.

"…Princess Haltation!" The merged power shot out, covering the droids who all screamed and disintegrated. She sunk to her knees as he rushed forward and grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her.

"Why'd you do that?!" he yelled, shaking her harder.

"So you wouldn't die!" she gasped back.

"So could've you!" he growled.

"It's my destiny! And if I do die, may a better warrior take my place! Besides," she said stiffly, "why do you care anyway?" His grip tightened on her shoulders and she tensed, ready for him to shake her again. Then, abruptly, he pulled her towards him and crushed her lips with his. The kiss was wild, untamed and… primordial in nature. Serena was carried off in the torrential outpouring of love, lust, longing, anger, and the claiming of herself by him in the kiss. When it finally ended, he stared deeply into her eyes.

"Because, my silly little rabbit, I love you. I love you so much it hurts me to think of you anywhere else but in my arms. I love you more than life itself." And with that he captured her lips in another breathtaking kiss.
