Sands on the Beach
In the sea of humanity,
what actions have brought
our lives to this island....
To this beach of our togetherness.
What forces yet unknown, caught all of us
in the same current, the same breeze.
So that we, the few, the fortunate,
were brought together
in this place, at this time,
as a group.
Each of us, grains of sand
tossed about and drifting
in the sea.
But together we form a small,
yet significant island.
And here we gather...
with mirth, camaraderie,
and sometimes with sadness.
But we gather.
None of us knowing exactly why..
None of us wise enough to know how....
All of us however,
rejoicing at our good fortune.
The why, the how,
are unimportant...
The we did, and we are,
is what matters.
The forces that be..
whatever they are,
have done their work.
We shall question no more.
We shall instead, enjoy...
and await the answer.
If there is one.
The most important
thing is apparent.
Once we were,
but now, we are!
