Wearing a flowing gown
of early morning mist,
she steps soundlessly,
leaving velvety green meadows
in the paths she has traversed.
Caressing the icy streams
with her warm breezes...
they melt at her touch,
and babble praises to her
as they fall over themselves
in reckless abandon on their
resumed journeys.
Strumming the heartstrings
of the forests,
she evokes a glorious orchestra of green.
And with whispered promises
of things yet to come,
she nudges even the smallest plants
into gorgeous arrays of color,
and we, the spectators, are mesmerized
by the intoxicating scent the Earth now wears.
She smiles her approval
with a cloudless countenance
as she draws the world to her breast,
laying to rest winter's hostile presence.
Spring has proclaimed the world........
Reborn!
