Day ended, with her crimson glow
silently disappearing into her own reflections,
leaving us in bewildered joy,
wondering if ever a day would bring such beauty again.
In the interlude,
earth, and all of its inhabitants
slumber peacefully.
Darkness....
Night....
He has now inherited our world.
While the earth rests, he transforms...
a faint glow, barely discernible,
gathers strength as the night matures.
Bands of foglike translucency stretch across the darkness.
The night has come alive
with a display of emotions.
Aurora borealis....
Northern lights...
The stillness of the sky is no more...
it is as though pent up emotions have been unleashed.
Waves of ever increasing brightness pulse across the sky,
Each more fervent than the last.
Each one, a quickening heartbeat in the breast of the sky.
He calls her....
in a voice only she can understand.
With the same words,
unspoken,
lovers speak to each other.
She awakens, and with a faint blush,
rises from her slumber,
knowing he has called to her once more.
Knowing that their moments together will be brief,
she struggles to reach out to him.
With flushed fingers
reaching above the tree lined shores of her slumber,
she longs to hold him in her arms.
He reaches out his hand,
now vibrant with his emotions.
In the minutes following,
they grasp hands for but a few moments..
For this interlude, although breathtaking for both,
will be a death blow for him.
They touch....
He with the mystical power of an aurora filled embrace,
and she, with the beauty of an innocent day beginning.
As he attempts to envelop her in his arms,
her blush becomes full bloom,
a burning fire in the sky.
She has become daylight...
her innocence has slipped through his fingers once more,
and now, his life has ebbed away in her arms..
These hours have been repeated
thousands of times before,
as he impatiently awaits her arrival...
Sometimes with the eagerness of this night,
sometimes shrouded in clouded seclusion,
and sometimes in the darkened silence
of a star filled early morning.
The night has lived once more.
And once more,
the sky has courted the dawn,
and with only moments together,
they continue their love of each other.
Worlds apart,
but only seconds away from each other....
Aurora borealis...
Northern lights...
Or passions of the sky?
