1.What do you think are the advantages of having such an evolutionary team
structure for software development?

Ans:

The advantages of having such an evolutionary team structure for software development is
-The majority team members have experienced
-Highly skilled members can be used efficiently.
-Responsibilities for each role in each stage is clearly defined.
-It's easier to judge the whole progress.
Disadvantages:
-If team members are inexperienced, it can lead to the lack of cooperation between them
-The team cohesiveness is not ensured.

What are the inherent problems in such a structure?

Ans:

- The system’s structure can be corrupted by continuous change
- The client may have the impression the first version is very close to the final
product and thus be less patient
- Difficulties in  estimating costs and schedule at the start of the project when
scope and requirements haven't been established
- The overall elapsed time for the project may be longer than if the scope and
requirements are established before any increments are developed;
- Time apparently gained on the front end of a project because of early releases
may be lost later because of the need for rework resulting from evolving
requirements
- There is a risk that if anything goes wrong in the midst of the life-cycle, the current team structure might be too rigid to handle the problem.
- Might not have enough transparency, as software management is of low percentage in the later phases.

Modify the diagram and show how you would improve the team structure!

Ans:

Percentages for each process can be changed to improve on the team structure.
a) Inception : - SW management : 40%
- SW architecture : 40%
- SW development : 0%
- SW assessment : 0%

b) Elaboration : - SW management : 30%
- SW architecture : 40%
- SW development : 30%
- SW assessment : 0%

c) Construction : - SW management : 10%
- SW architecture : 0%
- SW development : 70%
- SW assessment : 20%

d) Transition : - SW management : 10%
- SW architecture : 0%
- SW development : 30%
- SW assessment : 70%
