| In order to keep cows producing milk they are kept almost constantly pregnant. Their calves are taken away from them 1 or 2 days after birth and the milk meant for the calves is salvaged by humans. |

| Growth hormones, selective breeding and unnatural milking schedules cause dairy cows udders to become painful and so heavy they can actually drag on the ground. |

| In nature, cows live around 20-25 years but a typical farmed cow is 'used up' in just 4 years and then it's off to the slaughter house. |
