Characters:
Etna - Laharl's subordinate. Although she seems to serve Laharl faithfully, she has her own secret agenda. She reveres the late King Krichevskoy.

I don't want to give the story away but she gets used... that's all I can say. She says some pretty evil things in the game.
*Stole everything from RPG Dreamers, don't sue me*
Prince Laharl - King Krichevskoy's only son. Self-centered to the extreme, his ambition is to become the king of the Netherworld. He cannot stand hearing words like "love" and "kindness".

He's a freakin demon but his weaknesses are so stupid ex. beuatiful women. And he's so freakin skinny! My sister thought he was a girl!
Flonne - An Angel Trainee who is sent to the Netherworld to assassinate King Krichevskoy (only to find out that he was already deceased). She believes in love so much that Laharl calles her a "Love Freak".

Basicly a hippie, but she doesn't preach about love so much to the point where it becomes old.
Vyers - Self-proclaimed rival of Laharl. He calls himself "The Dark Adonis", but Laharl and others refer to him simply as "Mid Boss".

I completely forgot his name was Vyers. They only say it one time in the beggining of the game and then it's either "the Dark Adonis" or "Mid-Boss". He tries to pick on Laharl but Laharl just ends up kickin his ass.
Story:

There are 3 different types of worlds. The human world, the Netherworld and Celestia. The game takes place mostly in the Netherworld and it starts you off by saying that King Krichevskoy died 2 years ago and the whole Netherworld is in chaos, blah blah blah. Then they go to Etna who is trying to wake up Laharl, who's been sleeping for 2 years. Since Laharl is the rightful succesor to the throne, he goes and fights anyone who tries to take that away from him.

That's the beggining of the game for the most part. Later on the story has more twists and secrets and stuff. This game isn't a serious RPG, it's more of a funny story with a whole bunch of cheesy lines and ridiculous things to do.
Basic Flow of the Game:

Episode start

Objectives revealed

Overlord's Castle
Shops/Hospital/Gather Info/Assembly/Item World/Save

There are 14 episodes in all. However, the final ending will depend on how you play.
Game Play:

Every episode in the game starts in the Overloard's Castle, as shown to the right. The Castle has everything in it. The Shop, Hospital, Item World, etc. You only leave the Castle to go into battles.
To the left is what they call an area map. This is where you fight monsters and other bad guys. You can only have a maximum of 10 of your characters on the map at any given time. Using a turn-based battle system, the player and the computer alternate taking turns Issuing commands to thier units.
Then they have this thing called "The Dark Assembly". What is the Dark Assembly? At the Dark Assembly, there are two important things you can do: create characters and submit proposals. For simple requests, the Assembly will not need to debate, but for important proposals, you'll need the Assembly's approval. Don't ignore the Dark Assembly, or life in the Netherworld will not be easy.
They also have this thing called the Item World. I don't use it much cuz it's only used to level up your items and it take to long for me. So here's some  pictures of abilities and such.
Krystyna's Opinion

I really enjoyed playing this game.

Go buy it!!!
...or rent it or something

Rating:
9/10

Only because there's someplaces where you have to level up and some other things kinda annoyed me.
