Georgia Felines Proclaim 2008 Year of the Cat
In a massive rally in Columbus and in
Atlanta felines from all over
the country met and officially
proclaimed 2009 the year of the
Cat. "It is only fitting' said
Siamese spokescat, Scimitar,
'that Georgia, capitol state of the
US, should be the rallying place
of our organization.
Besides,
there are lots of mice here." A
demure angora appropriately
named Fluffy
raised a
delicate paw
into the air and
extended rather
long claws and
shouted, "Fur
forever! Cats
rule!
Garfield the Great, CEO of Garfield Images in Augusta, gave a speech regarding the need for humans to return to the precepts of Bastet and the right of felines to participate in free elections both locally and in national politics. His sister, Emmy-cat, entertained the convention with a special song and dance she created just for the occasion. In her hometown of Atlanta, Emmy-cat is famous as a ballerina and songstress and performed brilliantly for the Atlanta gathering.

In the afternoon most
of the felines retired to the forest for a little relaxation and
fun in the sun prior to the evenings festivities and fish fry.
This year's rally was such a success that it is
possible that there will be an even larger convention
held in 2009 to proclaim 2010 year the Year of the Cat.
As one American shorthair stated, "We're here. We're dear. Get used to it!"
