When I was searching for the pension in thunderstorm, I kept blaming myself for coming here. Why would I wanna visit Slovakia? What on earth is Bratislava? What makes me wanna come anyway?! When people ask me why I wanna go to Slovakia, I can't come up with a convincing and reasonable answer. Why? Only because I wanna have a stamp on my passport saying I've been here? Is it??
Anyway, I was too happy to have such a nice room I didn't wanna go out. But still I got myself together and went out. Under the pouring rain and violent wind ( like typhoon signal 3 in HK), I struggled my way to downtown. Usually on the first day of my visit to a city, I would walk around to get familiar with it. I've checked the tram timetable, found the location of some attractions. I saw lots of people on the street carrying Texco bags, so followed their route and came to Texco. It's still early so I went to check e-mail. I came to this bit weird cyber cafe, I asked the guy how much does it cost for an hour, he actually laughed at me and said 'yea, an hour, what are you gonna write? a thesis?". And the people in the cafe (the guy and his friends, dunno if they run the place or are they having a private party here) kept talking and laughing aloud (they are like protesting to the customer, well, I was the only customer). It took me an hour and a half to finish reading and replying all the e-mails, when I paid, that guy looked at me unbelievingly. By the way, it only cost 45K, i.e.HKD$9 for 1.5 hour internet access and a cappucino! After that, I followed my poor map (torn in the rain but extremely useful, remind of the map we used in Edinburgh) and came to a local restaurant which was recommended on LP. The food was great! They have rice, and they cook even better than the Japanese!!!! Haha!! They serve a quite large portion but I finished them all. Knowing that everything including drinks and dessert ended up cost less than HKD$30 made me felt even happier! And I'll be glad to go back to my room without complaining it's too early when I think of the huge bed and clean white sheet! This is Slovakia! I'm so glad I came! O I love traveling, you never what you'll get!
