Finally sat down and remember my diary.
It's a long story.
Said goodbye to the Czech girls on 1.8.01, yesterday was my last day in Hungary. I took a night train to Prague at 8:50pm. Shared a room with a Czech girl, she was an athlete, she plays weight lifting and just finished a competition in Budapest now going back home. Though she can't really speak English, we chat happily and I changed my pajamas. An hour later it came the Hungarian border officer, ok, got through it, then the Slovakian. That really rude Slovakian officer said that I need a visa! But I've BEEN to Bratislava, and they didn't ask me for a visa! Plus I know very well which countries I can go which I can't! I argue with him but he refused to talk to me in English, he didn't even look at me! Just said, "YOU, BUDAPEST, BACK!". Nobody helped me, nobody wanna get into trouble. Two officers walked in my room, took my backpack and threw me out of the train. In the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere, they kicked me off the train which I've paid 11750ft!!!!
As soon as I got on the train back to Budapest I started to cry. Can't help but CRY. A guy passed by and saw me, he looked at me curiously, when I saw him I yelled "DUN YOU LOOK AT ME!". Then started crying again. Later he came back with his friend, asked me if I'm alright and what happened. He's an Irish-Hungarian-African-French mix, forgot his name, and he's friend Jan is a Swedish. I told them what happen, and they said the officers did that for money. If I paid them just now I would be in Slovakia now. Another reason is that a lot of Gypsy from Slovakia go to England these days, so the British government tightens the policy. Slovakia thinks if you treat me like rat, I would do the same to you. I hold a British passport, so they treat me like rat I guess. Despite of the political factor, most of them just want money. Like while we were talking, an inspector passed by, I told him I was kicked off so I dun have a ticket blablabla, and he said okay, please paid 4000ft for a new ticket. What the hell?! You kicked me off the train and now you told me to buy a new one?! For 4000ft!? Then who compensate my lost?!!?!?! I nearly explode. The guys calmed me down and negotiated with the inspector, they finally made a deal at 2000ft. 好黑暗呀!>o<
These two guys were kinda funny, but they were very honest about their special feeling towards Asian women -______-|.....Anyway I stopped crying and soon very arrived Budapest! >.< Both of them offered me free accomodation, but I know where I should go. It's 11:30pm and there's no way I can get a ticket for metro. Then I thought of Natalie & Annie's story of running their backpacks out of the metro when they met inspectors who wanna fine them. I was afraid that it would happen to me and I dun think I can afford that kinda excitement. So they guys accompanied me to Deak Ter. We said byebye and I went back to the Red Bus. They were surprised to see me again, at midnight, thank god they have 24-hour check in. I told them the story and got a bed, in the same room. Too depressing, I couldn't sleep......
Woke up in the morning, had no idea what to do. I went to the train station with the backpacks and determination thinking that everything would be alright. See I had two choices, either take a train to Prague through Austria or take a train to Hamburg. I've been thinking about that and I dun think I'm able to go to Prague right now after all the accidents. Going to Hamburg is probably a better choice. So I queued up for the ticket, and it costs HKD$1000 to go to Germany! I called mum, told her everything and asked for her opinion. She agreed that I should go to Germany first, so I queued again, got the ticket, then queued again for information (yes, they are separate, the lady at the ticket officer said she only sell ticket and know nothing so couldn't provide any information, and the lady at the information box provides info on train by checking up a book of timetables). I suddenly think of my Hungarian visa which is a single one, but I came back last night, so basically I'm staying illegally in Hungary right now, which I thought might get me into trouble. So I went to the Police station, which I thought is the right thing to do. I told them what happened, and they just kept asking me questions (through a translator, who's a 17 year-old high school student works as something like "tourist ambassador" at the station) like you come from Hong Kong how come you have a BNO, isn't Hong Kong part of China, why would you need a visa if you are holding a British passport......I was so gonna cry, I thought they'd put me into jail in the name of fraud. They they said it's fine that I stayed, just make sure that my train to Germany would not pass Slovakia again. So the young translator told me to the info box again, and that old lady behind the box said that I should catch a train @ Deli @ 12:50pm, but it was already 12:30pm. So the translator ran me to the Metro station and put me on a train to Deli. It was all so ridiculous coz I know I'm taking the train @ Keleti @ 17:45pm and it's written on my ticket. I was just too tired and confused to say no. I went back to Dect Ter where there is a tourist info. centre, I know somebody would help me. Finally somebody could confirmed that the train I'm gonna take tonite to Germany will NOT pass Slovakia. Thank God! Good, so I am going to Germany, hopefully it works this time.
