At one
point, I actually thought I’d just do the minimum amount of work to make this
particular Monza drivable. It was in such sorry shape that I felt any
expense would be money down the drain.
But after we did a careful assessment of the car, the original plan to
just lay a few coats of paint over the badly oxidized finish was
scrapped. We stripped the car to bare
metal and found no evidence that the car had ever been hit and there was very
little body filler anywhere on the body!
Heartened by our find, we set out to bring the car as close to new
condition as possible. The metallic
green color is just a shade lighter than original. It took just over a month to complete the
repainting and whatever minor bodywork was required. I hope you agree that the final results
were well worth the effort.
