My name is Mike Gomez. I am a professional pilot currently employed by Philippine Airlines and based in Metro Manila, Philippines. I have been a pilot since 1972 and an amateur auto mechanic since 1976.
Something happened when Geocities and Yahoo merged some time ago and I can no longer access the original Monzter site in order to edit it. So I decided to start a whole new site dedicated to my two Monzters.
The original Monzter sits on jackstands in Ben Perez's shop located on Mekong Street in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. It has been there since longer than I can remember and I have done absolutely nothing to the car in many moons. It was supposed to be converted to V8 power using Hooker's conversion kit. There is a bare 327 block sitting in the engine compartment with a Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission behind it. Basically, it is merely a mock-up and it will probably be a while before I start working on it again.
Late in 2001, I decided to restore a 1979 Monza coupe, which I had acquired through a long and complicated process. That is the car you clicked on to get in here.
The original Monzter was intended to be purely a race car. That is still the plan for it. The new Monzter will be a street/strip car. I acquired a 1975 V8 coupe in Utah in April of 2002 and will bring all the V8-specific parts back to the Philippines in order to convert the new car to V8 power.
You will find no fancy Java or other cute features on this site. However, you will find lots of useful information for various GM H-Body cars in general and on V8 conversions in particular.
Click on the hyperlinks below to navigate through this site or visit other H-Body sites and use your back button to return to this page. I will be adding pages from time to time so please come back often to see what's new.
Have fun around the site and feel free to ask questions or make suggestions through my Yahoo! address:
