| GIRL SCOUTS - ATTENTION COLOR GUARDS - ATTENTION! COLOR GUARDS - ADVANCE This is our flag. It has been made of cloth, paper, plastic, fabric and more.. It has be flown, draped, and hung; admired and respected. It has only 3 colors. The red, the white, the blue. It has stripes of red for the courage and blood shed by men and women who were once scouts like us. They died not for the flag, but for what the flag represents and to keep scouts like us free in our country and our brother and sister scouts around the globe free in theirs. It has stripes of white for the purity and honesty that our flag should inspire. It does not say we are better than others; But challenges us to be better than we are. The blue is the heavens with stars. To remind us that our country is a gift from God and we are trust holders of that gift. We show one star for each of our states. For we are many joined to be one. And, in this, One is stronger than many. This is our flag. COLOR GUARDS - POST YOUR COLORS Let us now join in saying our pledge of allegiance (after pledge say Girl Scout Promise) COLOR GUARDS - DISMISSED GIRL SCOUTS DISMISSED |
| A good way to present this ceremony is to have the flag folded in standard triangle. Then have the girls pass the flag forward to the flag pole while the ceremony is read. Girls holding the flag should NOT read. This naration can be read by several girls in parts or by one reading the entire dialog. One girl could bark the commands while one reads the ceremony. |
