Girls enter from back-- stand in front of audience and say their names then stand behind center table We would now like to present the members of Brownie Girl Scout troop 3722 Girls enter from back-- stand in front of audience and say their names then stand behind center table We would now like to present the members of Junior Girl Scout troop 3378 Girls enter from back-- stand in front of audience and say their names then stand behind center table We would now like to present our Cadette liaison member She enters from back-- stands in front of audience and says her name then stands behind center table. We would also like to acknowledge the leadership and committee members of these troops, xxxxx, xxxxx, xxxxx, and so on. We will now turn over the next part of the ceremony to our narator, xxxxxxxxxxx Narrator:" Tonight we are here in to invest those who have joined Girl Scouts for the first time this year. We are also here to rededicate each member, new and old, to the Girl Scout Promise and Law. You should all understand that these are the ideals by which Girls Scouts try to live [a large candle is lighted, house lights are dimmed]. Narrator: " Before you, you see a golden flame. The flame symbolizes a Girl Scout's honor, which must never be dimmed. When a Girl Scout makes a promise, she is placing her honor, the brightest thing in her life, before her fellow Girl Scouts, her leaders, her parents, and her friends. Girls should understand that giving the Girl Scout Promise on one's honor is a serious thing. " 1st speaker: "From this golden flame we light the flame of duty to God and country. "[light small candle and say:] ON MY HONOR I WILL TRY: to serve God and my country 2nd Speaker: "We light the flame of duty to people." [light second small candle and say:] ON MY HONOR I WILL TRY: to help people at all times 3rd Speaker: "We light the flame of duty to self." [light third small candle and say;] ON MY HONOR I WILL TRY: to live by the Girl Scout Law Narrator: "We now bring to light the flames of the Girl Scout Law, which make bright and clear the trail that leads from girlhood to womanhood 4th speaker: A Girl Scout does her best to be Honest and Fair (light 1st law candle) 5th speaker: A Girl Scout does her best to be Friendly and Helpful (light 2nd law candle) 6th speaker: A girl scout does her best to be Considerate & Caring Light 3rd law candle) 7th speaker: A girl scout does her best to be courageous and strong (light 4th law candle) 8th speaker: A girl scout does her best to be Responsible for what I say and do (light 5th law candle) 9th speaker: A girl scout does her best to Respect myself and others (Light 6th law candle) 10th speaker: A girl scout does her best to Respect Authority (light 7th law candle) 11th speaker: A girl scout does her best to Use resources wisely (light 8th law candle) 12th speaker: A girl scout does her best to make the world a better place (Light 9th law candle) 13th speaker: A girl scout does her best to be a sister to every girl scout (light 10th law candle) Narrator: "These burning candles represent the points of the law and promise and how they brighten the life of the Girl Scout who observes them. When through practice they become a part of our daily lives, they also brighten the lives of all whom we come in contact." We can too easily forget that the Girl Scout Promise is a serious pledge. We must guard against repeating the Promise and the Law in a parrot-like manner, as though the words were meaningless. " Would all girl scouts please now stand and repeat the Girl Scout promise. On my Honor I will try to serve God and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the Girl Scout Law. Would everyone now please be seated. Girl Scout narator now sits Leader: Would Daisy troop 448 now please come forward. Daisy scouts sing �I�m a Daisy� Girls are presented their Daisy pin and WAGGGS pin. They are then presented their petals. Leader: Would Brownie troop 3722 now please come forward. Brownie scouts sing �Brownie Smile Song� Girls are presented their pins and try-its. Leader: Would Junior troop 3788 now please come forward. Junior scouts sing �Change the world�. Junior scouts are presented their pins and their badges. Flag Caller: Would you all now please stand for the retiring of the flag. | This is a Court of Awards ceremony we used for a multi-troop investiture and rededication ceremony. The junior troop decided on what they wanted and I found several ceremonies we put together. They wanted a LOT of speaking parts. They wanted candles. They wanted to sing. They got it all with this ceremony. |
