Checker Tip: In general avoid moves to the side of the board. This handicaps a checker as it can only move in one direction-away from the side. It's ok when you set up a 2 for 1shot trap or to avoid beong jumped without a return exchange jump.

Checker Triva; In 1756 Wm. Payne wrote the first book, in English, on checkers containing 50 games and 14critical positions. These 14 "problems" are still studied today as knowledge of how to play them is necessary.
