| Once the largest building in Boston. The Old South Meeting House was the place where the famous Boston Tea Party began. On December 16, 1773, 5000 angry people gathered to protest a new tax on tea. It was built in 1729, as a Puritan meeting house. Samuel Adams was a member of the congregation. |

| "Make Way for Ducklings" by Robert McCloskey A statue in the Public Garden commemorates the story of a family of ducks that made Boston their home. Heather and Matthew took a walking tour of the ducks' journey around Boston with her fellow New England Stroller Savants. |

| The "Democrat Donkey" in front of the Old City Hall. The building was completed in 1865 and was occupied as City Hall until 1969. It was one of the first examples of the French Second Empire Style built in the United States. There is a hop-scotch grid on School Street in front of the building to commemorate the first public school in the U.S.A. Boston Latin School (1635). |
