Episode III

Read the passage carefully

 

The robots took Karen, Carl and Junior to the operations room of the Computer Centre. They walked into an enormous room with computers on all the walls. In a corner, sitting in front of a computer, was a small old man. He had white hair and wore thick glasses. He turned and looked at the children.

-‘Hello, my name is X, Dr. X. Why were you outside?’- he asked.

Karen was not afraid.

-‘We are here to stop you, Dr. X’- she answered.

The old man laughed.

-‘Stop me! Do you know that I control all the city of Los Angeles? Soon I will control the world, too. My robots will do what I tell them and all the people will work for me!’- he said.

-‘Take these horrible children outside and kill them!’- Dr. X told the five guard robots.

He turned round and started to look at his computer. The crazy doctor did not see Junior. Junior crashed into the doctor’s chair and Dr. X fell on top of the computer controls. There was a loud explosion and the doctor shouted loudly:

-‘Oh, no, I have destroyed the computer! Now the robots can’t move!’

Junior picked the doctor up.

-‘Now you are our prisoner!’- Junior said.

-‘Thanks, Junior. We’ve done it!’- said Carl.

-‘Yes, now the robots can’t move’- Karen said. –‘The people can come out of their houses. The city is free! Let’s take the doctor to the police!’

The next day Karen, Carl and Junior were heroes. The president invited the twins and their father to a special ceremony at the White House.

-‘Thank you very much, children. You have saved the country!’- said the president.

-‘It wasn’t us. It was Junior, our robot. He stopped Dr. X’- said Karen.

Junior came up and shook the president’s hand. The president told him: -‘thank you, Junior. You have saved us all!!’

-‘You’re welcome, Mr. President’>- said Junior.
