A severe snow storm hit Northern California late in the afternoon on December 28, 2003. This was the worst snow storm to hit the area since 1975. Montana de Robles received between 18 to 24 inches of wet, heavy snow. The power was out for nine hours, and we were forced to use our back up generator. Dozens of tree limbs lay scattered around the property, and clean up will take some time. The Live Oaks were the most widely damaged. Fortunately there was no damage to structures. |

Photo above left: Believe or not this is hail, 8 inches of it. This freak two hour hail storm which hit in the latter part of February, caused over 5 million dollars of damage to area schools. Montana de Robles sustained no damage in the storm. Photo upper right: This is a few weeks later, the trees are getting there leaves and everything is green and beautiful. |
