Christ thats a scary pic, but if your old enough to remember the 'things that look like glyn' section of this site ,then you'll recognise the milton keynes lookalike instantly. Anyways Half Way Home is to some extent glyn's song, as its based on a bass riff he wrote a long time ago, and the lyrics (95% written some time last year) are his. That said, Half Way Home is in many ways the 'youngest' song on the cd, as it was only brought to the band in march, and was literally banged into shape the week before we entered the studio.

Lyrics

You lay down, in my thoughts
And i could swear theres no loss

Something found but something lost
You cant take a memory to heart
Cruel reflections of my thoughts
little inbetweener, forever more?

You sleep sound, in my thoughts
Forever on your side, stay warm

Something found but something lost
You cant take a memory to heart
Cruel reflections of my thoughts
little inbetweener, forever more?

You're always found in my heart
You're saving me from myself

Left here with nothing
some little purgatory
i'll write down everything
break these memories

They've always been apologies
Each week another way to say sorry
But photos just mock and memories half lost
Could something so small feel like everything ?
Instead of this nothing

Believe not dream ,no prayers for me
Stop the hopeless little guesses that i always knew were my fear
Fear of the empty
Kill my gods, they lied to us
Love is only ever present it can never be caught

Music - glyn/monsters4gods
Lyrics - glyn
Phil - verses vocals/ rhythm guitar
Jack - chorus vocals/ lead guitar
Glyn - bass/additional guitar/additional vocals
Sophie - drums
So whats it all about then - well quite obviously its a love song, but its a song filled with guilt too. The verses phil sings are about a perfect memory, but jacks chorus is about how memories can get in the way at times, and how easy it is to fall into memory and close up. The last bit is an attempt to reconcile all this, but also to apologise for a year away
