Update Breakfast - Once a month our members get together at a local church. We typically have a speaker who shares information that is of interest to us. Following the speaker, we discuss upcoming events, vote on issues, and of course leave time to socialize. Childcare is provided for just $2 per child, but you are not required to leave your child in the nursery.
Lunch Bunch - Twice a month, we meet at either a park or local indoor play area. The kids play and we get to socialize. Don't forget to bring something to eat since this is scheduled during lunch.
Field Trips - Our wonderful Field Trip committee plans two trips each month. We have gone as far as the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in Washington, PA to as close as the Monroeville Public Library. This is an opportunity for us to help our children experience the world around us, plus it allows us to get out in the world too.
MOMS Night Out - This an event just for us! As busy moms, we often forget about doing things for ourselves. Once a month, we meet at a local restuarant or attraction to get out for a few hours. Don't feel guilty...come out and have fun with other moms like yourself!
Cooking Club - Every other month, we meet in a member's home to share some great recipes and good conversation. Bring a dish to share, a copy of the recipe, and your kids to this stomach-filling event.
Parties - Five times a year, we welcome a new season with an afternoon or morning full of games, crafts, and entertainment.
Playgroups - Our playgroup committee matches children based on their ages and schedules. Once that is done, each playgroup makes arrangements to meet at least twice a month. Playgroups decide where and when they want to meet. They also decide how often. This is a great way to meet up with other women with similar aged children.
After-School Specials - School-aged children often miss out on the fun that their mom and younger siblings have with MOMS Club... Not any more! Each month we will have an after-school activity that is planned with these kids in mind.
Service Projects - An important part of our group is serving women and children in our community. We have done several service projects since we were established in the fall of 2002. They include making blankets for Project Linus, participating in the Jack Sedlack Comminuty Clean-up Day, and collecting funds and supplies for Newborns In Need of Southwestern PA. Most recently, our members purchased supplies and raised money to stuff 30 backpacks. These backpacks were donated to the Homeless Children's Education Fund for their "Pack-to-School" Campaign. |
