How to get out of a ban - March 9, 2002

As estimated, there are virtually two million seperate irc
servers around the globe carrying hundreds of users every 
day. With these users eventually come ban's and akill's
on a regular pace - and us as chatters quickly become fed
up with this nonsense and end up nuking or sending a virus
to there hated channel's admin, or even the main server 
stopping the complete internet relay chat altogether, but
I feel this is complete nonsense and only ruins other peoples
experiences - so I have found "little" ways to entertaining
people, like on this e-article: How to get out of a ban.

BEFORE YOU READ FURTHER, I ONLY ASK OF YOU ONE SIMPLE THING.
PLEASE DO NOT DISTRIBUTE THESE SECRETS FURTHER, BUT BE GLAD
YOU GOT YOUR GRUBBY LITTLE PAWS ON THIS. IF DALNET OR ANY
OTHER SERVER'S OFFICIALS GET AHOLD OF THIS, CHANCES ARE 
THERE WILL BE SOME CHANGES DONE TO THE SERVER. THANK YOU.

First off, you will need one of the best programs available
today for irc chatting - mIRC. This program is available at
www.mirc.com, but you could also go out and find a good 'mIRC
Script' at www.mircx.com with included MP3 Players, protection
from hackers and viruses and plenty of more goodies.

Screw with the channel opoerators mind(s)
=========================================
While being an avid and friendly chatter on many channels and
networks, there, ofcoarse, are channels that I just don't get
along with. As a young teenager I usto dabble around with 
"hacking" back into channels - but as I fooled around even more,
I realized that even the most novice of users can get there way 
back into a channel they were banned in -  with the proper
instructions, ofcoarse.

x Steps to Getting Back Into a Channel
======================================
(1) Let's pretend you just got banned from #chat, and you still
have a "few words" you wan't to tell the channel operators.
We'll, your first step is DISCONNECT from the server.

(2) After you have disconnected, go to the options menu. Now
change your Full Name, E-mail Address, Nickname and Alternative
Nickname to avoid the obvious /whois detection that many bots
use today for tricks like this. 

(3) Now, double click on "Connect" in the left dialog. You 
should now see a list pop down below it. If the list dissapears,
simply double click again. Now, click on IdentD in the same white
dialog box. Now change your User ID and System to anything you
wan't - just make sure they are not the same. Press ok, the grey
button located near the middle-bottom of the box.

(4) Connect back to the server WITHOUT trying to connect back to 
the channel. Now go to "Local Info" in the white Dialog box. 
Add a few charectors to Local Host, and change a few Digits in
the IP number. Pres ok again.

(5) Join the channel you were banned in. If it says you are still
banned, feel free to retry step 4 a few more times. If there is
still no result, you may want to find one of the many 
ip annonymiser's around on the internet, install and run it, redo
the steps listed, and try to join the channel again. Chances are
if you are still banned, they really got you this time. All you
can do now is wait out the ban. ;)

OPEN UP A *DIFFERENT* MIRC PROGRAM, CONNECT TO THE 
SERVER AND DCC THE FILE WITH A DIFFERENT NICKNAME.
MIRC SCRIPTORS WHO OWN AN FSERVE MAY HAVE TO MAKE A 
SCRIPT THAT COMPLIES WITH THIS.
