Yakule
Yakule is Ashitaka's loyal elk. He is of the Great Red Elk spieces. Yakule has increddible haste and agility. He is also ridden by the Ibishi, which are Ashitaka's towns people. Yakule stays by Ashitaka's side even during the most critical battles. When Ashitaka is wounded, Yakule is always there to help him. Who could have a more friendly elk than Yakule? It makes me wonder about animals.

Kaya
Kaya is Ashitaka's little sister. She has a frightful life full of constant battles. I think Ashitaka and Kaya are very alike. Ashitaka saves her from Lord Nago (the evil Bore God in the beggining). She disobeyed her rules to see Ashitaka at a certain time. She gave him her valuable and precious crystal dagger. Kaya is an exciting young girl. There are many girls like her in the Imishi Tribe.

The Ape Clan
The Ape Clan do not want to be bothered. When they met Ashitaka all they could think about was eating him. The Ape Clan want to save the forest, planting many trees doing so. They want to drive the humans out of the forest by eating them and gaining their strength. San informs the Ape Clan that, "Taking their strength will make them even worse." The Ape Clan then help by telling of the boar-skin disguised samurais.

Kouroku is an ox-driver from Iron Town. He was with Lady Eboshi when the wolves attacked on their travel, were he was tossed off a cliff. Ashitaka saves him near a lake, who is then congradulated by the people of Iron Town. Kouroku is scared of the Forest Spirit and so is his wife, Toki. He is also scared of the innocent kodama creatures of the forest. Kouroku has a sense-of-humor unlike anyone else.

I'll start off like this; Toki is annoying, unreliable, hyper active, stubborn, although much like a leader. Toki thinks "the whole world revolves around her". She embarasses her husband, Kouroku non-stop! In the long-run, she understands the value of people. Toki is probably the most foul, yet hopeful woman in Princess Mononoke.

Gonza is one of the arrogant and uncanny leaders of Iron Town. He always said that 'he was so tough', but when a battle arises, he manages to be "too late". Gonza is very loyal to Lady Eboshi and never refuses to take orders. He immediatly jumps to conclusion and yells to establish his dominance. In the end, he takes Lady Eboshi back to Iron Town because Moro bit her head. Rumor even has it that he is deeply in love with her.
