Polar Bear live in the frozen far north, the land of ice and the frozen snow around it. Here on some shores of some continents, this mammal is king of these places; Canada, Alaska, Norway and Greenland which is a part of Denmark. In these places around the Arctic Circle, where the winters are long and the summers are short and the darkness falls over the land for several months. The polar bear is a strong predator. It spends its time wandering long distances. Polar bears are the only bears that are protected by world laws. In 1976, the US, Canada, Norway and Denmark passed the laws limiting the number of killing of bears.
