The move out here was pretty much crap! Ryan and I departed Kansas City for one of my hardest road trips ever. I do not do road trips very well. When I am not driving all i want to do is sleep and when I am driving I have to do everything in my power to stay awake. I will admit I loved going through Colorado and all the mountains. WOW that was some beautiful scenery.
When we finally arrived at Ryans house we found the house to be half empty. Cat had decided she wanted a separation from ryan and moved out while he was in Kansas City. It was pretty shocking to say the least. I went from having no pressure to find a job or place to live, to having only 3 days to find a new place in Seattle. I did some serious praying and all seems to be working out. I continue to say prayers for Ryan and Cat, but I really don't know nor do I care to really share anything about that. I will say however that they are trying to work things out.
So we found a pretty cool apartment in Seattle. It is a bit on the small side, but we are making due for now. We are both in a bit of a fix so it will have to do.
I had a couple job interviews already. One of them sounded promising, but now I can't get the guy to make a commited decision so I am going to probably just let it go. I had another interview with a company that does high end design and photo work. They also teach classes there and have a position open for a graphics teacher. That is something I have wanted to do for a long time. The first interview went great, so now I have to go in this week and teach a mock class to the instructors and president of the company. I think I will do ok. I really want this job so I BETTER do good. We will see I guess.
Seattle is incredible. I can't get over how cool the city is. It reminds me of a small New York City. (that is coming from someone who was raised in Kansas.) People from here and New York may argue with that, but who cares. I love walking around downtown Seattle. People are everywhere and there is such a variety of them.
The other day Ryan and I went out and we were walking on this street when I started hearing all these weird noises. I was thinking, "What is that? It sounds like some kids playing with a synthesizer." I stopped and commented, "What is that?" Ryan pointed up and said, "It's a parrot!" I looked up and there was this grey parrot in a cage on someones balcony. The noises suddenly started making sense. The parrot had apparently been placed on this balcony quite a bit and learned the noises of the city. He could "speak" the following sounds perfectly...
A buses squeaky brakes, delivery trucks reverse beeping, cell phones, a normal indoor phone, a barking dog, a cawing crow, a seagull and numerous cat calls and whistles. I was laughing so hard at this. It was absolutly amazing.
Anne is coming out to visit in a week. I am really looking forward to seeing her again. She emailed me and said she wanted to come out and I was shocked! I wasn't expecting her until later in August. I am not complaining at all though! We are going to have a good time!
Our neighbors all seem pretty cool here. The only freaky thing about our surrounding neighbors is the ones that live in the next building over. Ryan yelled at me from the kitchen for me to come take a look. I went in there to find him pointing out the window. "Check it out Dan!" I look over to see a HUGE upside down pentagram hanging from the neighbors living room wall. The thing even had red lights on it. SCARY! ( a pentagram is a satanic symbol for those of you who might not know.)
Well I guess that is about it for now. I will try to update this thing every now and then. Ryan and I are discussing a possible new site but I don't know yet. I do know that i want to change at least my writing page so I can make it easier for both you the reader and me the writer. We'll see!
